Dear Mommy,

8:39 AM

Tell me… do you mean the things you say?
Do you think its funny?
When you don't even see that your own offspring is scared.
One thing is being there for him economically and the other is being there for him emotionally.
Have you been there for him?
Do you even know him?

You don’t know the things he has gone through,
all the bullying,
all the hate
A never ending wave of judgement
that to this day
torments him.

You think his safe but he is not.
Not in the time we are living in right now.

Don’t forget it, in the world people hate him.
Don't approve of him
Of his kind.
You might disown him and I recommend you do if you are not entirely up to defending him
But there is a strong possibility he might choose freedom.

And even that will be looked down upon.
But not to me, who has seen the hate first hand,
who has suffered from it first hand,
You think most of us aren't ready for life,
Or that we don't comprehend how cruel the real world can be
But mommy,
we have fought this war
Since the day we choose to accept our reality.

So tell me, do you mean the things you say?
Why are you doing this to us?
We are your children, your legacy…
And our difference should make you proud.

So mommy, don't go.
Listen to my song and feed me prayers
So that in the end
I can find safe passage through this world.
